      <image:caption>Becoming Full… of Empty Once upon a time, there was a wise Zen master. People traveled from far away to seek his help. In return, he would teach them and show them the way to enlightenment. On this particular day, a scholar came to visit the master for advice. “I have come to ask you to teach me about Zen,” the scholar said. Soon, it became obvious that the scholar was full of his own opinions and knowledge. He interrupted the master repeatedly with his own stories and failed to listen to what the master had to say. The master calmly suggested that they should have tea. So the master poured his guest a cup. The cup was filled, yet he kept pouring until the cup overflowed onto the table, onto the floor, and finally onto the scholar’s robes. The scholar cried “Stop! The cup is full already. Can’t you see?” “Exactly,” the Zen master replied with a smile. “You are like this cup — so full of ideas that nothing more will fit in. Come back to me with an empty cup.”</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Annapurna, the yogic name given to me…means ‘the goddess of nourishment’ and is also the name of a great Himalayan mountain. It became my yogic practice, my dharma or duty, to embody my name. And so I came to realise a quality of grounded-ness in feeding people all kinds of good food and not just food for their bellies, food for their hearts, minds and souls. One of my teachers inspired me to ‘overflow with what I loved’.’’ I love learning, from a place of fullness, not lack. One can be contentedly full of emptiness! So with great gratitude and loving kindness, I embarked to find methods for sharing what I’ve learned: great yummy recipes, the neurobiology of meditation, the power of breath, concentration techniques and practices, the anatomy of yogic postures, and of course, the yogic philosophies that I have studied since my early 20’s, ways of being that ignited my path, kept me grounded and launched me onto this journey of coming home to share what I love with so many people over these last 12 years.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>from the sanskrit… to yoke. to connect, to unite. with the true Self. Living yoga... changes with each student and each practice and is not limited to the practice on the mat. My teachings are a mash up of Integral practices, gentle vinyasa flow focussed on movement with breath, spiced lightly and warmly with a bit of chanting as well as yogic concepts and alignment. We finish the the class still with a deep in-version: yoga nidra, the yogic sleep, deep relaxation and a few moments of meditation practice. It is appropriate for all levels. I offer yoga in small group or one to one private sessions in 60, 90 or 120 minutes increments. I am 500 hr certified having trained and apprenticed in different lineages with very experienced teachers. I offer basic hatha (ha-ta) yoga with options to emphasise elements of flow, alignment, breathing, meditative awareness or integration all dependent on what the student requires to develop a practice. Mostly, I teach without music to encourage students to come into deeper connection with the music inside them: breath, subtle energy, feelings, stillness, silence and ultimately connection to the deepest aspects of who they are. Sessions with music are available for those who would prefer to orient their awareness externally.</image:caption>

The various techniques and methods useful to anyone depend upon the skillsets of the person or group being coached and are found through a process of discovery with a teacher. We will explore together how to find useful techniques, which may change over time, for the student of meditation.</image:caption>
